The church is located in Kokkinogia and was built in 1820, οn the site of an early Christian church. The two-story stone bell tower was later built in 1886, as written in an inscription. It is a one-story church with a wooden roof, which was built with rough stones and plaster. It is the second oldest o in the prefecture of Drama and one of the few preserved churches in the prefecture that follow this specific - very typical in the post-Byzantine period - architectural style. Its iconostasis dates back to 1870.
