Folk Museum of Prosotsani

Located in Prosotsani
It is a restored rural residence, which is an important part of the intangible cultural heritage of the Municipality of Prosotsani. The building was restored by the Municipality with the assistance of the Territorial Cooperation Project "Popularization and Preservation of the Cultural and Historical Heritage, in the Cross-border Region Gotse Delchev - Prosotsani" (INTERREG GR-BG 2007-2013). The ground floor was mainly used for storing and processing agricultural products. The 1st floor was the living area of the family. The building is made of stone and wood. The perimetre walls of the ground floor are stone-built, as is the courtyard of the wider property. Upstairs, there are walls which consist of columns of oak wood, with a filling of "plokaria", i.e. braided reed. On the substrate of the “plokaria” a muddy coating was applied.
