Hunting is an organized activity, which is supervised by the Hunting Associations and the Forest Service throughout Greece. The Prosotsani Hunting Association was established in 1994 and its main purpose is the protection and sustainable management of the area’s fauna. For this reason, and according to the association's statute, the association allocates the bulk of its revenue to activities that help the preservation and enhancement of wildlife species’ population. The Prosotsani Hunting Association is based in Prosotsani and operates under the supervision of the Forestry Service of Drama. The area of its responsibility covers the southwestern part of the Prefecture of Drama. To the west it includes Mountain Menikio, to the north Mountain Falakro, and to the south and east the plain of Prosotsani and part of the plain of Drama, respectively.
