Lise Military Museum

Located in Ochiro, Kato Neyrokopi
The Lise Fort is part of the Metaxa defense Line at a short distance east of the village of Ochiro and about 2 km from Kato Nevrokopi, on the hill that rises in the Nevrokopi plateau. The fort had machine-gun emplacements, accommodation and storage facilities, water tanks, power generators, armaments and military vehicle parking positions. In these forts, the Hellenic Army fought bravely against the German and Bulgarian invading divisions on April 6 - 9, 1941. Despite the attacks the forts never fell but eventually surrendered after the Armistice of April 10, 1941. Many Greek divisions left in their formations with their weapons. The Germans
